posted Sep 9, 2016, 4:20 PM by Beth Crooks

Good evening Rincon Bulldogs. We have a few reminders for next week. Wednesday is our first Rincon Bulldog PTSA General Meeting in the MPR at 4pm. At this meeting, the PTSA budget will be presented, and you can learn all about our plan to support our students this year. Please attend if you are a member, or feel free to join our membership at the meeting. Our first dance of the school year will be on Friday from 3-5pm. Tickets will be on sale on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday during lunch, for $5 or for $2.50 if you joined ASB at registration. Keep in mind, students who are attending the dance stay on campus after school, enter the dance at 3pm, and stay in the dance area until dismissal. If you do need to pick-up your student before 5pm, and adult will need to come to the door for your student.

Also, September is School Attendance Awareness Month in California! We would like to remind you that daily and on-time school attendance is a very important part of student success. School attendance plays an important role in student learning, academic achievement, and in feeling connected to school. All school absences; excused and unexcused absences and arriving even a few minutes late or leaving a few minutes early from school, can make learning more difficult for our students.

We realize that there will be days that students might have to miss school, especially when they’re sick. Make sure to read our Student Success Handbook, to know what is considered a valid excuse for an absence and what to do to verify an absence.  Always call and/or send a note into the school office to verify each day of absence.

Thank you, and have a great weekend.
