Hello Rincon families, this is Mr. White, Rincon Principal, with school announcements for the coming week. As shared in previous communications, Rincon student enrollment has exceeded our teacher staffing and our class size maximums. This week, Rincon will have another teacher join our TEAM of educators which will reduce class sizes that are over maximum limits. This will require schedule changes for some students. These students’ schedule changes will occur on Wednesday, September 4th.
This week students will take the iReady Diagnostic assessment in the areas of Math and Reading. It is very important that students do their very best on these assessments so that our teaching staff can determine students strengths and areas for improvement. The iReady assessment will take place during our schoolwide testing schedule on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The Rincon PTSA will hold its first General Association meeting of the school year on Wednesday, September 4th, at 3:00 p.m. in the Rincon Library. All are welcome to attend. Students can still vote for this year’s PTSA spiritwear art design using the form shared with students and families. Voting ends on Monday at 3:00 p.m.
Mark your calendars for this Friday morning’s “Coffee with the Principal.” This parent and guardian gathering with the principal will begin at 8:30 a.m. Discussion topics at this meeting will include Title 1 Federal funding to schools, achievement data, our recently received Community Schools grant, and parent and school community input. We hope you will join us.
Remember that Rincon’s Back to School Night will take place on Monday, September 9th. Back to School Night will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m., so arrive early enough to find a parking spot. Back to School Night is an important opportunity for parents and guardians to meet their students’ teachers and receive a brief overview of classroom information. Parents and guardians will follow their students’ schedules at Back to School Night and will listen to 10 minute presentations from their students’ teachers. Please don’t miss this event!
Enjoy the remainder of the Labor Day holiday weekend! School resumes on Tuesday, September 3rd.
