     Hello Rincon families, this is Mr. White, Rincon Principal, with school announcements for the coming week.  This is another reminder to parents and guardians that Parent/Teacher Conferences are approaching.  Rincon will conduct Parent/Teacher Conferences on the following dates and times:  Wednesday, October 9th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Thursday, October 10th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Staff will take lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) with conferences resuming at 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and Friday, October 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Information contained in weekly Sunday phone calls can be found on the Rincon website under the “NEWS” section in addition to important school events being listed on the calendar section of our website titled “EVENTS.”  

     We received five parent nominations for our School Site Council which is the exact number of parent representatives needed.  All five will be voted in unanimously with a ballot that was sent to parents and guardians last Friday.  Please take a moment to cast a unanimous vote for these five parent representatives who will serve on our School Site Council once officially elected.  Voting ends on Wednesday, October 2nd at 4:00 p.m. 

     This Thursday, October 3rd, there will be a Parent Training to provide support in the use of PowerSchool for monitoring your student’s grades and attendance in addition to the use of EUSD Rooms for communication with your student’s teachers.  The Parent Training will take place in Room 26 at two separate times on Thursday:  at 8:30 a.m. and again at 1:30 p.m.  We hope you can make it if you are interested in this training opportunity.

     Our first Family Lunch of the school year will be held this Friday, October 4th, during both lunch periods.  Please note whether your child has Lunch 1 or Lunch 2 so that you arrive on time.  Also note that you may only bring food for your child, not for your child’s friends, due to school nutrition regulations.  We look forward to Rincon families joining this family fun activity on Friday!

     This Friday is also the midpoint of Trimester 1, and Trimester 1 Progress Report grades will be calculated.  Trimester 1 Progress Reports will be mailed home on Friday, October 11th. Please monitor your student’s progress so far this year, noting areas of strength and areas for improvement.  Working together with teachers, parents and guardians can help their students achieve at their maximum potential.
