Hello Rincon families, this is Mr. White, Rincon Principal, with school announcements for the coming week. The week ahead is filled with a variety of school events beginning with our ASB Spirit Week. Each day has a specific dress up day for students to participate in which coordinates with a Halloween or Red Ribbon Week theme. Monday is “Wear Halloween Colors,” Tuesday is “Spooky Socks Day,” Wednesday is “Scare Drugs Away/Wear RED,” Thursday is “Twin Day,” and Friday is “Opposite Day.” ASB will also hold our first school dance of the year on Friday, October 25th, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale for $5 with the price increasing to $10 on Thursday. If your student will be attending the dance, make plans to pick up your student promptly when the dance ends at 5:00 p.m. Students will not be permitted to walk home after the dance. Rincon will permit students to wear costumes on Halloween Day, Thursday, October 31st. More information will be provided to families next week regarding Halloween costumes or Halloween Day.
Please support the Rincon PTSA by participating in this Thursday’s restaurant fundraiser event held at Panda Express located at 600 W. Mission Avenue in Escondido from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Rincon’s PTSA will receive 20% of all purchases when our school fundraiser flier is shared. The Panda Express restaurant flier will be texted to all families later this week.
Please also join us for an important family education event being held next week at Rincon Middle School on Monday, October 28th at 6:00 p.m. A special presentation focusing upon “Adolescent Substance Use Awareness and Prevention” will be held in the Rincon Multipurpose Room. This presentation is for parents, guardians, and students to inform all in attendance about the dangers of drugs and substance use. This informative presentation delivered during Red Ribbon Week will be a valuable family education resource. We hope you will be able to attend. Light refreshments and child care will be provided.
Also mark your calendars for the next Coffee with the Principal event to be held on Friday, November 1st from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Members of the Rincon Support Team, our Counselors and School Social Worker, will be in attendance to share information about their roles at Rincon and the support they offer to students and families. Please join us at this event.
