Hello Rincon families, this is Mr. White, Rincon Principal, with school announcements for the coming week. Red Ribbon Week is underway, and Rincon will be hosting a district wide Family Education Night event on Monday, October 28th at 6:00 p.m. in the Rincon Multipurpose Room. There will be a presentation for parents, guardians, and students that focuses on “Adolescent Substance Use Awareness and Prevention.” Child care and light refreshments will be provided.
Halloween is Thursday, October 31st. Students are permitted to dress in costume on this day, but we ask that students’ costumes are school appropriate, respectful, and do not include blood and gore. Students will not be permitted to wear masks during the day, and costume weapons may not be brought to school. Please leave candy at home for Trick or Treat enjoyment on Halloween night.
Mark your calendars for the next Coffee With the Principal event on Friday, November 1st at 8:30 a.m. This event will spotlight the Rincon Counselors and School Social Worker. They will be in attendance and will share the resources and support they provided to students, families, and staff. We hope you can attend this gathering.
Daylight Savings Time is approaching on Sunday, November 3rd. This is a reminder to turn your clocks back one hour at bedtime on Saturday night. Also watch for the EUSD communication regarding Spring Break camp offerings for 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade students in April 2025. EUSD 6th graders will have the opportunity to attend Camp Cuyamaca, and 7th & 8th graders will have the opportunity to attend SEA CAMP San Diego. Be sure to express your interest by the deadline when this EUSD communication is shared on November 3rd.
