A group of North Broadway students participate in their first Ranch Day with Principal and Incoming Director of Teaching and Learning, Cherry Moore. Un grupo de estudiantes de North Broadway participa en su primer Día del Rancho con la directora y directora entrante de enseñanza y aprendizaje, Cherry Moore.

It was so wonderful to welcome everyone back for the first week of school! There were many happy and excited students throughout the district. A huge thank you to our teachers, staff, and parent volunteers who made the first week of school exciting!

To kick off the 2025–26 school year, we created a special video highlighting our superintendent transition. You’re invited to view a video to showcase our Staying the Course Amongst a Sea of Change(Youtube).

Back-to-school nights:

Back-to-school nights are underway around the district. For event times and dates, be sure to check your school’s website or look for a reminder in Rooms on the EUSD mobile app.

Attendance is meaningful:

Every day counts when it comes to student success! September is recognized as Attendance Awareness Month, and we appreciate your support and encouragement for consistent student attendance. Every student is a valued member of our school community. Daily and on-time school attendance not only helps support our students' connection to school and learning, it is a key indicator of future success. Absences are understandable when a student is sick. However, missing 10 percent or just two days a month can cause a child to fall behind academically or feel disconnected from school. When students miss school, they are missed by their classmates and the caring adults on campus. Our district has numerous resources to support families. Please do not hesitate to contact your school site if you are experiencing any challenges with your child's daily school attendance.

Student Insurance:

In past years, EUSD has provided families with the opportunity to purchase voluntary student insurance. This year, the Board of Education approved the purchase of insurance to cover all students, adult volunteers, and non-enrolled youth in school-sponsored events for school-related injuries. This blanket accident insurance covers medical, ambulance, ER expenses, as well as other charges associated with an injury or accident. Brochures outlining this coverage have been emailed to families.

Absence notifications:

In order to create a more uniform notification process for attendance, families of students in TK through 8th grade will receive automated phone calls at 10:15 a.m. on days when their student is absent from school.

Student Registration:

If you have not yet registered your returning student, now is the time to complete the required registration of all students returning to EUSD for the 2025-26 school year. You can complete your child's registration by clicking the following link: Returning Student Registration. The Returning Student Registration takes just minutes to complete online. Timely submission of registration for the 2025-2026 school year will help ensure proper placement of your child, prevent delays in receiving your child's class schedule, assist staff in determining your child’s eligibility for assistance program benefits, and confirm that necessary emergency contact information is up to date. Returning families have received a letter by U.S. Mail with instructions for accessing the parent portal. It is essential that all returning students register through the online process in order to update essential information.

If you have a child who is new to EUSD, please visit our Enrollment and Registration webpage to access the appropriate links and review important information for this process for students entering Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade. In addition:

  • To find your neighborhood school of residence, use our online school locator tool.

  • For the 2025-2026 school year, children are eligible for full-day Transitional Kindergarten if their date of birth is between September 2, 2020, and September 1, 2021. For full-day Kindergarten, eligible students must be age 5 on or before September 1, 2025.

Preschool applications:

EUSD State Preschool is still accepting online applications for the 2025-2026 school year. Visit the preschool website to access the application beginning Wednesday. Applications will be accepted for children who will be age 3 by December 1, 2025. If your child will turn 3 during the 2025-2026 school year, you can apply on or after their birthday. Preschool classes are available at seven EUSD elementary schools: Central, Juniper, Glen View, Lincoln, Oak Hill, Pioneer, and Rose. EUSD Preschool is offered through the California State Preschool Program and licensed through the California Department of Social Services. Eligibility for the program is based on household income; however, there are additional opportunities for families who may qualify to participate in the EUSD State Preschool Program based on residing within the boundaries of one of our sites.  In addition, students with IEPs also qualify for the State Preschool program.
