6th grade students have brought history to life by creating their very own barter market, drawing inspiration from the vibrant trade practices of early Egypt! Through this hands-on experience, they experienced the value of trade, negotiation, and collaboration. By exchanging goods and services without using money, they gained a deeper understanding of the economic systems that shaped ancient civilizations. We are incredibly proud of their creativity, teamwork, and ability to connect history with real-world applications. A huge thank you to our 6th grade social studies teachers. Celebrating Student Success: Trimester Awards Breakfast! This week, we launched a wonderful new tradition with our very first Trimester Awards Breakfast! It’s all about recognizing and celebrating the hard work and determination of our incredible students! On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, families and students came together to enjoy a light breakfast while celebrating honor roll learners for achieved their goals. A HUGE appreciation to our teacher, Miss Josephson for her innovation and leading this project. We are thrilled to announce that our school has been awarded the Escondido Education Foundation’s $3,000 grant for our proposal, "Celebrating the U.S. Semiquincentennial"! This interdisciplinary initiative will honor the 250th anniversary of our nation. We can’t wait to see our students’ projects showcased at multiple events throughout the year, as they explore and express their reflections on our nation's rich history and culture. This grant will enable us to foster creativity, collaboration, and communication among our students while aligning with our School Plan for Student Achievement. Our first EUSD GATE Collaborative will take place on Tuesday, December 2nd from 4:00–5:30 PM in the Boardroom at the District Office. The GATE Collaborative brings together parents, teachers, and administrators to share insights, offer feedback, and support the continued development of EUSD’s GATE program. These meetings also include presentations on GATE-related topics designed to support both families and educators.

You are cordially invited to attend the three GATE Collaborative meetings this year as a teacher of GATE-identified students for the 2025–26 school year. Teachers who participate will be compensated at the non-instructional rate for their time.

For our first meeting, we are pleased to offer a special presentation titled “Gifted Students and Motivation.” This session, led by Tina Page, one of EUSD’s social workers, will provide practical strategies and insights to help educators and families better understand and support gifted learners who may appear unmotivated or disengaged
